Promoting Engagement of Children and Parents
StoryWalk installed in local parks encouraging engagement with literacy and nature.
The Summer Reading Program for babies, kids, teens, and adults engaged in library events from an early age, and also encourages parents to take full advantage of library resources/programs.
Storytimes and classes like Toddler Learning Centre instill a love of reading and learning through early literacy development and teach parents how to use our collections to engage their children in early learning.
Adult Summer Reading and Winter Reading Programs encourage adult lifelong learning and engagement with the resources of the library.
Promoting Community Connection
Schlow Library’s podcast hosts engaging discussions about issues of interest to the community.
Schlow’s social media presence (including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) works to highlight and share information from other community organizations.
Schlow hosts books clubs and author visits, both in-person and virtual, where community members can engage in discussions with their neighbors.
Partnerships with Arts Festival and other community groups provide unique and non-traditional library programs like BookFest PA for the community.
